Our read

The Flex-M is the cheapest camera here and one of two cameras here backed by a free plan: Spypoint’s Free tier sends 100 photos a month at $0. It ships with two preactivated SIM cards.

Spypoint doesn’t file its own FCC grant. Its manual says the Flex-M contains Quectel’s EG91-NA, a 2018 LTE Cat 1 modem certified for Bands 2, 4, 5, 12 and 13. That’s the narrowest band list in our database.

TrailCamPro’s test is a mixed bag: 120 ft of detection, 30 ft better than claimed, but 65.7 s between photos and only 3.3 months of battery life in their model. The flash placed first in TrailCamPro’s 2024 cellular flash-range shootout, according to Spypoint’s product page.

Bottom line: The cheapest way to try a cell cam, with a free plan. Expect to swap batteries often and miss follow-up photos.

Spypoint's manual and certification sheet say the Flex-M "Contains FCC ID: XMR201807EG91NA". That is Quectel's grant for the EG91-NA modem; the rows above come from the module's own test, not from the camera. Source: https://fccid.io/XMR201807EG91NA, checked 2026-10-21.

Band labels are ours, matched from each frequency range. Output figures are the filing's ERP (below 1 GHz) or EIRP (above 1 GHz) values; they show what was certified, not how well the camera holds a signal. See LTE bands and carriers explained.
